Relocate to Cozumel! The internet has created more flexible work conditions for many people. Several professions allow us to work from home now rather than the traditional office. What better office than a tropical island overlooking the majestic Caribbean Sea. The Landmark of Cozumel provides the ease of island living with the amenities of home. A perfect island office to enjoy your stress free life like the woman in the following article:

“My Life Is My Own in Mexico”

Posted on November 24, 2011 by Kandy Stahl

Kandy now lives a stress-free life since she moved to Cozumel, Mexico

You have excelled in your career; climbed the proverbial ladder. Life is now consumed by work—up before the sun, off to the office to face employees who constantly complain, dwindling budgets to manage, political nonsense, and doing your best to fulfill your responsibilities.

This isn’t five days a week; it’s closer to seven with 12- to 14-hour days. The stress has mounted, your health has suffered, and forget a personal life. You think constantly of retirement, but it is five years in the future. Sound familiar?

Fifteen months ago, that was my life…and it was certainly not my own. I was a slave to work and my health had declined significantly. I had to do something quickly. So, I decided it was time to retire early.

Yes, I was scared to death about how I would make ends meet. But, we had always planned to retire to Cozumel, Mexico. It just happened earlier than expected. We sold everything, put the money in the bank, and off we went to live our dream.

Life today is something most people only dream of. I’ve found a serenity in this island paradise. I wake up daily to the beautiful turquoise ocean; some days I’m fortunate enough to see a pod of dolphins swim by. On others, I am content to have a cup of coffee on my balcony and watch the seagulls, swallows, cranes and other birds. Stress is something I no longer experience.

There is a host of things to do when we feel like getting out. We can go to one of the beaches; sit with a book, enjoy the surf, have a great burger (yes, we have cheeseburgers in paradise!) or watch kite-boarders. We can walk downtown and shop, or just watch people.

There’s a national park nearby where you can cool off in the ocean or swim with the dolphins. The Mayan ruins are an interesting place to spend time, and the reefs are among the best in the world for diving or snorkeling. And, oh my, the restaurants. Anything you can imagine from a meal of tacos al pastor and sides for $3 to magnificent European cuisine for $30. For me, it’s the lobster.

The culture here is something I truly enjoy. The Cozumeleños are very welcoming. Never have I encountered such friendly people. If you want genuine family values, you will find them here. And the people here definitely know how to party. Carnaval is a week-long party and Christmas…indescribable. There are many social events—the Cuban ballet, art exhibits, boxing matches, Ironman, musical performances, the circus…you name it. Anything you could possibly want is right here.

The beauty of it all is that I enjoy every day now. I don’t “work” anymore. I am able to enjoy this life thanks to my new career as a copywriter. I can work on projects as much or as little as I want by managing those that I accept. I generally work in the morning and have the afternoons to myself. I can do all of this and easily afford to live in Cozumel. The cost of living is a lot less than in the states. We bought a car nine months ago and have only had to put gas in the tank five times.

I highly recommend looking into a career as a copywriter so that you, too, have the freedom to create the life you always imagined.

Cozumel Destination Wedding

The Landmark of Cozumel is the ideal spot to host your family and friends as you exchange I do’s on our private Caribbean beach. Destination weddings are on the rise for many reasons. Many couples are planning destination weddings to save money, costing on average $20,000 less than traditional weddings. As you plan your special event here are 10 reasons Destination Wedding Magazine gives for choosing a Destination Wedding Getaway:

10 Reasons to Have a Destination Wedding

Destination Weddings and Honeymoons Magazine

At some point in the planning process, every engaged couple entertains the idea of having a destination wedding — after all, who doesn’t get excited at the prospect of going somewhere gorgeous and unique to exchange vows? But at the same time, it can be daunting — can you actually pull off a destination do? Will your loved ones be supportive? If you find yourselves debating “should we or shouldn’t we?” or needing to convince some VIGs (very important guests) to embrace your decision, we’ve got help. Here are 10 fantastic reasons to take your big day on the road.

1. You can say I do anywhere! A destination wedding is defined as marrying at least 100 miles from where the bride currently lives. So imagine the options that definition opens up for you — the world really is your playground.

2. You’ll stand out from the pack. More than 2 million American couples wed every year — and fewer than 20 percent of them have destination dos. Bonus: Wed away, and you won’t have to choose from the same old hometown spots all your friends have booked.

3. It’s easier. Many wedding-worthy resorts offer free planning help to couples, whether the event is for two or 200, and an abundance of packages keeps things simple while still giving options to customize. Want something more involved? Turn to an independent planner who specializes in more elaborate events.

4. You can save on decor. With a destination wedding in a stunning setting, your location of choice supplies the theme, from castle fairy tale to sea-inspired soiree. And when you choose an amazing backdrop, it doesn’t take much to dress it up. Opt for a pristine beach, a tidy vineyard, a blooming garden or a historic plantation house furnished with graceful antiques, and you’ll be more than covered with a few simple florals and other modest accents.

5. Enjoy quality time with loved ones. The standard wedding lasts for five hours, and the bride and groom spend most of that time running from table to table, trying to say hello to everyone. A destination do spans a minimum of three days — which means, now that you’ve finally gotten your nearest and dearest together, you can actually spend quality time with them! Hooray!

Interesting article discussing the trend of investing in Cozumel Condominium vacation homes now to eventually become primary homes. As this trend continues, less real estate will be available, especially in Caribbean locations as easily accessible and safe as Cozumel. The Landmark of Cozumel was designed with a detail to quality building materials, luxury property amenities, access to high speed internet, security, breathtaking views and private beaches that makes it not only the ideal vacation home but also a perfect primary residence. Here is the article from the Cozumel News:

Feature: Demand for second homes is changing in American and around the world, because these are not now second homes, but future primary residences.

Trends toward owning multiple residences are rising, 12 per cent of these second homebuyers will buy multiple vacation homes. Today, 2 per cent of these buyers own a third or fourth home, expect this figure to rise. If even a low percentage of the 78 million boomers choose to own multiple residences, the demand for vacation homes has only just begun to be realized.Traditionally, a second home was a vacation spot, more than 50 miles from your primary home. A primary home was a residence near work, where you spent the majority of your time.

But now, technology and commuting opportunities at work have allowed some people to work from anywhere, once the kids are out of school, home is where the heart wants to be.

There were 36 million people aged 50 to 59 in the US in 2005, and the median age of second homebuyers was 52.

This demographic force will be trading vacation and second homes for the next 2 decades. It is reshaping the housing market in America today. The better, better, besting phenomenon will affect the second home market as well.

You can see some of the effects of this demand in the product mix of new housing. The 1990′s saw a resurgence in popularity of the condominium form of ownership. Many housing analysts claimed the stellar rise in condo development was mainly due to land costs, surely this was a factor, but as important was the rise in single parent families, many caused by divorce at middle age.

The US population is expected to grow 25 per cent in the next two decades. This population growth alone could support abundant residential construction in America, and is one of the reasons any ‘housing bubble’ or drop in property values could be short lived. Add to the natural population growth, the number of newly formed single-head households, and it is easier to be bullish on real estate.

The key is which type of housing is in new demand. The focus of developers must be on the demand for better, more central locations, desirable and livable cities, higher quality amenities, services and luxuries associated with our housing stock.
